The DAF series are current-applied electromagnetic brakes that brake when energised. The energised coil becomes an electromagnet and pulls the pressure plate to apply the brake; when power is removed, a leaf spring lifts the pressure plate away and braking stops.
Used to stop a rotating shaft at exactly the required moment, the series covers 8 – 2500 Nm in 10 sizes with a 24 V standard voltage and 3 design options depending on the application. With short switching times, the series is used in automation, packaging, printing, textile and turnstile systems.
