The DYF series are spring-applied electromagnetic brakes that brake when de-energised. When the coil is energised, the magnetic field pulls the pressure plate against the springs and frees the double-faced friction disc; when power is removed, the springs clamp the disc and apply the brake.
They offer 3 – 2800 Nm of torque, adjustable air gap and braking torque, IP54 – IP66 protection on request and short switching times. Mounting options without or with cooling, with a forced fan, with a manual lever, or with encoder and double brake let them be adapted to safety-critical systems such as cranes, stages and lifts.
