ELK brake motors combine a standard three-phase motor with an electromagnetic brake mounted at the non-drive end. A brake option exists for every frame size, with braking torques from 5 Nm to 1600 Nm and brake supply voltages of 24 V, 230 V or 400 V DC.
A manual release lever can be added for cases where the brake must be opened without power. Where braking and synchronised operation are both required, brake, encoder and forced-ventilation fan can be fitted together at the rear of the motor.
