ELK ex-proof motors are designed and built to the ATEX directive for potentially explosive atmospheres containing flammable gas or dust. Every Ex motor has at least IP66 protection.
The Zone 2/22 series is available in frames 63–315 with aluminium or cast iron housings and in efficiency classes IE2, IE3 and IE4. The Zone 1/21 series is built in cast iron in frames 100–280, in flameproof (Ex db) or Ex db eb design, with IE3 / IE4 efficiency.
Typical users are oil, chemical, pharmaceutical, paint, woodworking and treatment plants. Selecting the correct zone, gas group and temperature class is the responsibility of the application engineer, so please include your hazardous-area classification in your quotation request.
